Aims of the workshop
- To explore the importance of inclusion
- Define the difference between inclusion and integration
- Raise awareness of the barriers to inclusion for disabled children and young people and consider what can be done to break down the barriers
- Discuss and share experiences of inclusive practice
And of course to have FUN!
Who should attend?
- Those who work directly with children and young people, disabled or non-disabled in a variety of leisure settings including holiday play schemes, leisure centres, uniformed groups, sports, art and youth clubs
- Professionals who work with disabled children and young people and their families
- Anyone in the private, public and voluntary sectors who have a vested interest in learning more about inclusion.
The workshop is 3 hours with a maximum of 25 participants.
We also deliver OCN (Open College Network) accredited Inclusion Awareness Training, which is 6 hours in duration with a maximum of 20 participants.
