On the 11th March Out & About held an Inclusion workshop at the Aspire business centre Lowestoft.

A great turnout of over 40 people showed how much interest and passion there is to improve the lives of disabled children and to promote inclusion in the North of Suffolk.

After a fun warm up activity there was a presentation about the work of Out & About. Following this came the stars of the workshop Oliver and Peter with their presentations about the activities they have been doing with Out & About. The whole audience really enjoyed listening to Oliver talking about using public transport and Peter (The Stig) telling us all about racing in the Go Kart league complete with helmet and overalls! John Pawsey of Waveney Gymnastics club then spoke of the work Out & About has been doing to include disabled children into their club.

Everyone who came took part in workshop activities around ways to overcome barriers and they were able to look at how they can help to promote inclusion in their own personal and professional lives. As everyone left they wrote down a promise of what they were taking away from the workshop and what they were going to do in the future to make sure all children can access their right to full and active inclusion.
