Lady golfers raise money for Out & About
Linda Warner and a group of lady golfers from Woodbridge Golf club very kindly raised a fantastic £750 for Out & About! Linda said ‘I chose Out & About because I spend quite a bit of time with a little autistic girl who, with my support, has been able to access a range of activities in the community which in the normal way might not necessarily be available to her. I know this is part of the Out & About philosophy and think this facility should be made available to other such children/young people.
The money was raised in various ways - £250 came from golf balls going in the pond at Woodbridge Golf Club! Anyone who was unfortunate enough to hit a ball into the pond was invited to make a 50p donation to my charity. The remaining £500 was raised through various raffles and prize draws. I also allowed the ladies the opportunity to purchase 'mulligans' on my Captain's Day. These cost £1 each and allow you to have a second attempt if you hit a bad shot/lose a
ball/have an unplayable lie etc. etc.’
Our sincere thanks go to Linda and her friends, especially for all the miss-hits into the club pond!
