Out & About is running a series of leisure focussed life skills programmes in Ipswich during the forthcoming February half term (13th – 17th February).
All four programmes have been fully funded by Activities Unlimited and will run out of Suffolk New College in Rope Walk.
| Programme | Dates | Times |
| Using the bus | 13th- 17th February | 9.30 am to 1pm |
| Using money | 13th – 17th February | 9.30 am to 12.30 pm |
| Social skills | 14th -16th February | 9.30 am – 2.30 pm |

The programmes have been designed and developed in consultation with disabled young people and are suitable for young people aged 13+. Young people will gain practical community based experience during the programmes enabling them to have real practice of using the bus, using money etc. Person centred planning will be used to ensure that all young people are able to set their own goals and recognise their own level of support needed to achieve their goals.
Programme materials and contents have been designed so that all young people are able to access the programme of their choice.Fully trained mentors and volunteers will provide support to each young person that takes part in one of the programmes.
Kevin Filby Project Manager at Activities unlimited said "Activities Unlimited are delighted to be supporting the new Life Skills courses provided by Out & About. This represents an extension of our work on leisure and short break activities, to the development of a range of opportunities for young people wanting to develop their skills and interests. We hope this will be just the start of new possibilities for young people with additional needs in Suffolk."
