Precious pet dog to benefit from lottery windfall!

Emma Ferris and Eso

Emma Ferris from Gipping in Suffolk was thrilled to receive the news that she had won £1000 on Out & About’s weekly Unity lottery scheme.

Emma’s luck was definitely in as she had only just joined the lottery the week before after reading about the fundraising scheme on Out & About’s website.

The money will be put towards vet bills for Emma and husband Paul’s energetic, but very accident prone 3 year old Hungarian Vizlo, Eso. Emma said “Eso has had three knee operations in three years, the last one resulting after he ‘missed’ a ditch whilst chasing after a rabbit!”

Emma used to volunteer for Out & About when she was in 6th Form and then went on to become a paid support worker when she was at university training to be a speech and language therapist. Emma said “I always wanted to work with young people and the valuable experience I had with Out & About definitely led me to choose speech and language therapy as a career choice”

Emma would encourage anybody to join Out & About’s Unity lottery scheme. “It is only £1 a week and as I pay by direct debit I don’t even notice the money going out of our bank account – it is nice to know that the money raised through the lottery is helping Out & About to continue making a difference to disabled children and young people”
