Why we need your help

car wash fundraising in ipswich hog run

We believe that children and young people learn best when they are enjoying themselves. Having fun provides opportunities for personal development as well as contributing to the child’s happiness and overall sense of well-being.

Sadly, very few disabled children and young people receive funding from local authorities to access services like ours leaving them lacking opportunities and feeling isolated from their community.

The kind and generous support we receive from individuals, companies and charitable trusts allows us to offer our services to these children and young people enabling them to take part in their choice of everyday leisure activity and for their families to benefit from a much needed short break.

In 2012 we need to raise £1.1m and your help, no matter how small, will help us meet this challenging target.

There are many ways to support us. From volunteering a few hours of your time, taking part in one our events, making a donation, arranging your own fundraising event or recycling your old mobile phone – there is sure to be something to suit everybody.

To help you further when arranging your fundraising event, please read our Fundraising Guide.

Fundraise for us
In your community
At Out & About we need to raise £1.1million each year to continue to provide the current level of support to disabled children and young people who need us. Community groups play a vital role in helping us to raise this money. Read this section to find out how you can get your local community involved and make a real difference to disabled children living in your area.

Will
Leave a gift in your will
Disabled children and young people want to have the same opportunities as their non-disabled friends. By remembering Out & About in your will, it is a great way to ensure we can continue to make a difference to these children not only now, but in the future.

It is with the help of gifts in wills that we will be able to continue to develop our service and help even more disabled children, ensuring that they have the same chances as every other child.
